Escort Agency Stands Up To Council

SALMON ARM -The operator of a local escort agency is refusing council's demand to give it her little black book.

Two months ago the woman, who calls herself Kitty, started AII Pro Escort Services in Salmon Arm.

Civic officials say the service is a front for prostitution and council passed a bylaw ordering her to provide details of her business, including her clients' names and phone numbers.

Kitty denies she's in the prostitution business, refusing to give up the names and numbers and has accused council of trying to force her out of business. She said she's seeking legal advice. The B.C. Civil Liberties Association said council's action violates privacy rights. -CP
