A Salmon Arm woman is vowing to keep operating her
escort agency whether the municipality likes it or not. In almost any Okanagan
community you can open up the Yellow Pages and find a list of escort agencies.
Salmon Arm has been the exception, until now.
But city hall is worried the business could be used as a front for prostitution,
so council has passed a bylaw demanding the operator give them her client list
and the names of all employees. "Kitty" says she won't comply. "That’s nuts.
That's ludicrous. I have no intentions of ever supplying the information." Kitty
also has no plans to leave town, saying her business is perfectly legitimate.
Her escort agency has been operating for 3 weeks. She says business has been
brisk.
